Grafton Estate Village Surveys

Surveys of The Grafton Estate covered on CD2

A number of surveys were carried out by order of the Dukes of Grafton. They detail the size and value of the holdings in each village, together with the names of the tenants of farms and cottages. The Estate Surveys have been supplemented by other relevant surveys to give the coverage shown here. Some of the survey maps from 1725-7 have also survived and have been included in enlarged detail.

As more research is done and information transcribed, the results will be posted in the relevant sections on this website. See Shutlanger 1727 below.
