Grafton Estate Special Features

Blakesley Hall Railway - c.1905
Special Features for Grafton Estate villages

Most Villages have a Brief History, outlining their origins and developments, with particular reference to the Grafton Estate. The history is usually illustrated with relevant maps, photographs and diagrams, including a population and housing chart from 1831 (and often earlier) to 1981. If available, statistics on the number on roll at the village school are also included.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of a significant number of local people, it has been possible to include on the CD a range of special features covering particular aspects of many of the villages of the former Grafton Estate. A rich and varied picture emerges of all the aspects of life in a bygone age, all well illustrated by photographs and diagrams. Grafton Regis Millennium Committee wishes to record its gratitude to those who shared so readily their village and often personal family albums.
